Whatâs been a âdisasterâ for the hospitality sector has been âincredibleâ for retailers when it comes to Champagne sales in the UK during key consumption occasions: Christmas and Valentineâs Day.
According to specialist Champagne businesses in the UK, including the biggest player in the sector â Moët Hennessy â Covid-19 related restrictions have created a surge in retail sales for the upmarket French fizz, particularly if you are a famous brand, and especially via online channels.

Planque, which bills itself as a âwine drinkersâ clubhouseâ, is due to open under a pair of railway arches in Haggerston, east London, when lockdown restrictions are lifted.

A BrewDog bar location in Indianapolis is under fire after a group of former women and LGBTQ employees claimed they were fired because the bar wanted a “change in culture”.
Four former BrewDog employees have said they were fired by a general manager they had never met before, as part of an allegation that the location had appeared to exclusively fire female or LGBTQ staff members.
“This new general manager who we have never met, don’t even know what he looks like, called us one by one and told us that we were all being fired because they wanted a change in culture,” a former employee told wishtv.com.
